Welcome to The Football Historian Podcast, hosted by Peter Kenny Jones.
Episode Eight sees Dr Alan Tonge join us in the garage. The former Manchester United and Exeter City shared stories of being Alex Ferguson's first signing at Old Trafford.
Alan experienced the crushing blow of being released from his boyhood club, before Alan Ball gave him a chance to shine at Exeter City. His career was prematurely curtailed through a spinal injury and a life in a different field soon followed.
We also discuss Alan's football history and tackle the biggest debates in football history.
